West Florida Healthcare has announced that effective August 1, 2009, its primary care location at U.S. 2360 Highway 29 in Cantonment also includes immediate care on a walk-in basis for minor injuries and illnesses.
With the new name of West Florida Immediate Care, the facility is located near the intersection of Highway 29 and Kingsfield Road in Cantonment. Lab and x-ray services are available on-site, and the telephone number is (850) 968-2083.
Immediate care is beneficial for patients that need to be seen by a qualified healthcare professional, yet do not require the full services of an emergency department. Some of the non-emergent symptoms seen in an immediate care setting includes colds, sore throats, migraine headaches, muscle strain, school physicals, back pain, earaches, fever, and minor cuts and burns.
For non-emergent situations, our services will be even more convenient for the entire family because they will not be required to have an appointment, noted William Bone, M.D., Ph.D., physician at the West Florida Immediate Care office. They will still receive quality medical care, but waiting times and overall treatment times are less than in a typical emergency room setting.
West Florida Immediate Care offers the following advantages to its patients:
When non-life threatening illnesses or injuries happen, our staff will be ready and available to care for them, continued Bone. And, we have the full resources of West Florida Healthcare should a patient need referral to more specialized services.
